A Louis XIV style Boulle clock dating to the late-nineteenth century. Brown tortoiseshell veneer and finely engraved cut-brass marquetry, representing scrolling foliage and blossoms. With gilded bronze ormolu decorations. 12 part enamel cartouche numbers to detailed gilt bronze dial. Circa 1880. 8 day movement, striking on a bell, on the hour and the half. Case waisted. 8 day movement, striking on a bell, on the hour and the half. Movement stamped “Delettrez A’ Paris”. Movement No. “3274” Jean-Baptiste Delettrez was a well known clockmaker working in Paris, in the late 19th century. Measurements: 39h x 23w x 12 depth cm. Circa 1880.

19TH CENTURY FRENCH TORTOISESHELL AND GILT BRONZE MOUNTED MANTEL CLOCK the case with bell top surmounted by a foliate swing handle and flanked by four urn shaped finials, the sides with glazed panels with gilt bronze frames surmounted by winged putto masks, the white enamelled dial with floral garlands and Arabic numerals, the twin train movement stamped “HP & CIE Paris. MEDAILLE D’ARGENT” numbered “9610” , striking a coiled steel gong, with pendulum. Measurement 33cm high x 19cm wide x 15cm deep.
